New hotel plan for Edgewater lot on Comox waterfront

The Comox Town Residents’ Association has learned that a new hotel design is currently being proposed for the old Edgewater site next to Marina Park on the Comox waterfront.
No matter what is built on this site, it will inevitably have an impact on our much-loved and utilized public Park, the boat ramp, boat trailer parking, the boardwalk and shoreline walkway, food stands, annual events such as Nautical Days, and the view corridors from Beaufort and Comox Avenues.

In the interest of openness and as a demonstration of good faith, the CTRA asks that the developer and architect arrange an open public display of the proposed hotel design. This would allow the citizens of Comox to see the plan, comment on it and ask questions at an early stage, before the plan is presented to the Town of Comox Planning Department and begins the official process.

In the meantime, we understand that the new conceptual plan may be viewed at the Marina Office, Monday – Friday, 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. The Marina gate is usually locked, but interested citizens may phone Marina staff, Trudy Atwood or Brad Jenkins, at 250-339-2930, to have the gate opened for them.

  1. On Feb 01st,we tried to view the plan. Left a message for Trudy Atwood. She never responded. So went to the docks. The gate happened to be unlocked.
Brad Jenkins said we could see the plan at the Town office. The Town office said they didn’t have the plan yet. This has been our 2nd attempt. Also tried on Dec 28th, but was told by Brad that he didn’t have any plans.
